EQ: Hey Robin. Can you talk us through your new single ‘Composed’? What’s it all about ?

R: Hi, yeah sure, ‘Composed’ was recorded in October- times last year so 2020, I’m pretty sure we were still in lockdown, bored pretty much, me and a couple of my mates had a couple studio sessions together just cooking up and shit having a few beers. ‘Composed’ happened to be one of the records we made in that time. We didn’t really know what to do or what we were going so we didn’t really have any expectations at that time we all just have the same love for music whilst all being different so it was more like an experiment haha. For me especially in that time not knowing if i was coming or going ‘cos of all the madness that was going on in that particular time and still going on, ‘Composed’ was literally me talking to myself. Try not to take life too seriously even though you can’t help it sometimes and try buss a smile when shit and hitting that way at all..

EQ: The music video looks like so much fun. Was it important for you to film it in your home and put Manchester on the map?

R: You know what’s mad I’m also from down south a little place called Hailsham, my dads southern and my mums northern so I like to make sure i pay homage to the places I have to most memories at so yes it important that I make people aware of the city and show what it has to offer and some places I’m at. Manchester is my favourite city in the UK, I’ve not traveled a lot to compare it to elsewhere but that people here and the energy is just something I’m always drawn too. The video was a lot of fun yano, just a pre day in the life feel, nothing strict just good vibes.

“I look forward to more days and more vibes.“

EQ: What’s usually your creative process when planning a visual or writing a new song?

R: I don’t really have a process when it comes to making music at all, more time I have no idea what I’m going to do I just try shit and see if it works. I guess when it comes to visuals I’ve not yet had the opportunity to show my more creative side as it’s all dependent on the song and how it makes me feel. But I’m excited to show that side the more I do 🙂

EQ: You’re only at the beginning of your journey, which is exciting. Did you find that the pandemic has interrupted you creatively and progress-wise in any way?

R: Wow, pandemic that word scares me a little yano. Apart from being in my house more than what I usually am I tried to stay as positive as possibly. ‘Cos it paused the world for everybody, it did give me and everyone around me more time to experiment without feeling like your falling behind so on that side it was beneficial but for everything else like shows, videos it was a bit harder and overall mental wise just had to take it day by day.

EQ: What else have you been cooking up that you can share with us?

R: Ohh, obviously working a lot with my mates in manny so two4kay, mattu and zeeshan but i have been working in London too which has been really cool. met some really sick people like IO, Jae5, Levi Lennox, Jay Weathers, had the opportunity to work with them also which has been fire, I look forward to more days and more vibes.
