The Designer Spotlight for Equate Edition Two - Order Here

Born Londoners with British and Irish heritage, Teatum Jones are “two humans inspired by other humans, creating fashion from human stories.” Truly believing in the power of fashion to present a pro-social message of inclusivity and positive identity, the core message in the brand was in creating socially conscious fashion that puts the craftspeople and the customer at the heart of their creation. @teatumjones

“I have always had a love for the arts with my family all being very artistic - through the process of my final collection I took great care in creating pieces that would last, a garment someone would appreciate and treasure for years to come.”

A recent graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Farmer studied Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles for four years. Her final collection has a primary focus on colour texture, exploring intricate knit structures to display the concept of Tactile Nostalgia, with the concept based on the idea of Braille - a way of fabric evolving into something sensory through contrasting yarns and fabric manipulation. @jxsminefarmer

LONGSHAW WARD is a Womenswear and Accessories label, designed by husband and wife team Kirsty Ward and David Longshaw, in London. Having studied at Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art, the pair met in the design studio of Alberta Ferretti, in Italy. Returning to England and launching separate eponymous labels, years following, the duo joined forces to form LONGSHAW WARD. Covetable contemporary pieces with a strong aesthetic are the main principles of the brand’s DNA. The collections concentrate on beautiful, detailed craftsmanship, for modern, intelligent women. @longshawward

“The disturbing thought of [the] fabric being made with the help of bacteria shows how we can embrace nature and its imperfections, and find beauty in the oddest place.”

Taylor Wilson is an emerging experimental fashion and textiles designer, creating unique pieces with a poignant message in the design process. The “Evolving Oddity” collection was inspired by Biomimicry, and the study of cells, the smallest unit of life. With its aim to challenge the perception of beauty, and the questions needed for us as humans to find a more sustainable way of growing fibres for clothing, Taylor was able to grow her own sustainable leather with the help of yeast in a complex manufacturing process to create stunning and intricate garments. @taylorwildesign
