SURYA SEN - JESSICA
Surya Sen, the alias and sonic concept of North London’s British-Bengali producer, DJ, and rapper Rana Ali, has dropped a brand new track ‘Jessica‘, The single got inspired by early rave footage discovered during lockdown. He says:“During the lockdown I came across footage of Shelley’s Laserdome; a night club in Stoke-on-trent, England at the heart of the house and rave scene in the 1990s, and saw these ravers dancing as if no-one was watching. I was instantly hypnotised by their dance moves and felt a feeling that I hadn’t felt in so long. I knew I wanted to create something that could capture that feeling”
REMI WOLF - LIQUOR STORE
Rising pop star Remi Wolf shares another instant hit single ‘Liquor Store‘, the lead single off of her long-awaited debut album, out in autumn. She says: “‘Liquor Store’ feels like I am shedding a skin. It’s about my journey with sobriety, which has been a major life shift for me over the last year. At the end of 2020, after six months away from the studio, I had a crazy explosive week where all these feelings came pouring out of me — ‘Liquor Store’ captures a lot of them. It’s my first baby of the bunch and I hope you love it.”
KADIATA x KNUCKS - GUESS WHAT
Two of London’s hottest artists, Kadiata and Knucks, have teamed up for summer banger ‘Guess What‘, taken from the former’s highly celebrated EP ‘Lost, This Winter’ - perfectly in time for the ongoing heatwave in the UK. Alongside a slow-tempo sound, both rappers are showcasing their outstanding talents with soft vocals and clever lyricism.
MIDWXST - MADE IT BACK
Hailing from the US state of Indiana, artist Midwxst, born Edgar Sarratt III, is a force to be reckoned with. The genre-defying, rising super star is effortlessly blending hyperpop and digicore with hip-hop and candid storytelling. Today, he shares his new song ‘Made It Back’ alongside a truly cinematic sci-fi music video.
THE LINDA LINDAS - OH!
Los Angeles-based, all-female punk band The Linda Lindas have released their highly anticipated new single ‘Oh!’, which is featured in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix series “The Chair” starring Golden Globe winning actress, Sandra Oh. “’Oh!’ is one of the first songs we collaborated on during the pandemic, masked and distanced on the front porch,” recalls the band. “It started with the main riff and progression Bela brought to the band. Eloise wrote the verses and Lucia and Mila wrote the choruses. The song deals with trying to help out someone and having it blow up in your face.”
