i-Files: M Huncho
"Tough times never last, only tough people do.”

In the days since COVID-19 has dominated our screens, and mandatory self-isolation is being enforced globally, things can seem pretty bleak. With the recent announcement from heads of states following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s own battle with the Corona Virus, the UK will face a further 3 weeks of mandatory lockdown, which includes all non-essential travel beening restricted, and only urgent outings (including to buy essential food, medicine and exercise once a day). This change – which is set to last for 3 weeks and then will be reviewed - has been imposed as a way of ensuring social distancing measures used to quell the spread of the outbreak. EQUATE took this time to catch up with our favourite artists and creatives for our ‘Isolation Files’ to see what they are doing to keep their spirits up in this time, and bring some positivity to our readers.
“I’m literally just in isolation with people who give me creative direction everyday, whenever I get time to write or express myself I do so”
- M HUNCHO
London’s favourite anonymous rapper, M Huncho let us into his elusive world as we caught up to see what he’s been getting up to during the UK’s lockdown. Clearly keeping himself busy with his run for office, the London-native has released visuals for his latest track ‘Huncho For Mayor’ which was released this week.
EQ: What are you doing to stay busy right now?
MH: Working out at home, eating, sleeping, reading, playing PS4 and most importantly hoping this virus goes by ASAP!
EQ: What are the top three tracks on your playlist at the moment? Anything in particular you can’t take of repeat?

EQ: What would you recommend we all tune into on Netflix/Amazon Prime?
MH: It depends on your preference, I’ve been watching old school mob movies, The Godfather trilogy, Road to Perdition etc
EQ: With so much content out there right now across socials, is there anything that has stood out to you that you can share?
MH: Apart from the fact that we need to stay indoors and wait for this crazy time to be over, not really, new music from artists is something that I have been sharing and memes to be honest [laughs].

EQ: What’s a positive mantra that’s getting you through this time?
MH: I don’t know if you’ve seen the meme but, “tough times never last, only tough people do.”
EQ: With all the spare time, how are you tapping into your creativity?
MH: I’m literally just in isolation with people who give me creative direction everyday, whenever I get time to write or express myself I do so, maybe do an online game streaming with the fans specially the younger generation
EQ: First place you’ll head to when everyone comes out of isolation?
MH: Five guys…or even better fly to the states and get Chick-fil-A, I’m tired of this shit [laughs].
EQ: What can we look forward to hearing from you in the later in the year? Any exciting projects we should be looking out for?
MH: Got some tricks up my sleeve, guess you’re gonna have to wait and see…
