Lecx Stacy vehemently opposes police brutality and corruption with new release “Crooked Smile”
Lecx Stacy is a multifaceted songwriter, producer, and visual artist from San Diego, California. Lecx has already received multiple accolades for his debut Faceplants EP which was released in May of this year by prominent music publications, as well as landing placements on coveted playlists such as Spotify’s Fresh Finds & Fresh Finds: Indie and Apple Music’s INDIY and Indie Music.
A distinct representation of personal escapism and conceptual worldbuilding, Lecx’s creations are often conceived in daydreams and bouts of deep introspection.Originally intending to be released next year as part of his debut album Lexc just released the urgent anti-police/anti-corruption/anti-police-brutality anthem “Crooked Smile”. Like most of the world right now Lecx, was utterly disturbed by the footage of the heinous public lynching of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department and felt compelled to act and release the track early as a call to action for police reform and to provide morale for protesters around the world. Released via Terrible Records, all proceed from the sale of the track will be directly donated to DeDe McClure’s Bail Fund (San Diego), People’s City Council Freedom Fund (LA) and to the People’s Programs (Oakland) - all charities that are providing protestors with medical supplies, bail support, legal aid, and more.
100% of proceeds from the single will go to the below organisations:
1. SD Bail Fund
2. Los Angeles People’s City Council Freedom Fund
“This is a song that was written as an internal processing and grieving of police brutality and supremacy. Music is a central form of displaying solidarity. I am not expecting change out of releasing a song, but I am hoping to add my voice to the community of people who are choosing to stand up against injustices.”
