EQUATE Premiere: Iman Lake

You may or may not have heard East London-based singer-songwriter Iman Lake. Either way, the genre-defying artist is someone who should be on your radar! Today, he is exclusively premiering his new visuals for single ‘Seeking A Friend‘ on EQUATE which also marks part-two of his apocalyptic comic series in collaboration with creative director Azeez Bello.

Teaming up with producers Hotel October and Grace Acladna, ‘Seeking A Friend‘ is a truly captivating alt-pop tune which is sublimely highlighting Iman’s outstanding storytelling abilities and vocally rich talent. Underpinned with playful melodies and electric guitar sounds, this track is giving us instant feel-good vibes.

The music video demonstrates scenes from the comic book - written by Emmanuel Daniels with illustrations by Satria Wahyu. Inspired by the illustrations of Alan Moore’s groundbreaking graphic novel ‘Watchmen’, the comic further follows Iman as the series protagonist embarking on new adventures and delving deeper into his life - from meeting his friends to exploring his world and witnessing fantastical romantic situations, the comic is supporting the sentiments of the single in the most genuine way.
