EQ: Hey Stikmatik - you’ve had an impressive music journey behind you, what would you say is your most memorable memory so far?

S: Hey, so I’ve had some amazing moments but one of my top ones has to be playing at Tomorrowland in 2019 alongside my homie Jessica Agombar & David Stewart. It had been a vision board image of mine for a while (still is) so bucket list moment checked!

EQ: So tell us about your Abo Malume Remix! How did that come about?

S: The boys over at European 305 are good friends of mine who I’d come up with. They are really pioneering the AmaPiano movement in Europe & UK, when I heard ‘ABO MALUME’ with Gugu & Bittersoul it was infectious! I could hear so many of my own ideas, reached out to the crew and since we’d been speaking about collaborating for a while they honored me by recruiting me for my remix.

EQ: What is your creative process usually?

S: My process is very simple, I’m always looking for a spark of inspiration, whether in chords, melody, or vocal. I can go hours, sometimes days looking for a moment but when it hits I honestly believe songs start writing and making themselves. Normally I’d build on an instrumental track and leave it quite open for songwriters/artists to hear my idea and write to or work with topline (demos) I have received, stripping it all back and working on them. Funnily that process always feels like a remix, I’m shocked when I realize it’s all original at the end ha.

EQ: Which artists are on your radar right now?

S: Right now I’ve been watching and lucky enough to work with; DJ Lyan, S.A.M, Lucky Rose, Wauve, Daisy Guttridge, Pisano, European 305, and Kishan. These peeps are about to change the game.

EQ: Anything else you’ve got planned for the remainder of the year that you can share with us?

S: So, I’ve got lots of music ready but also still working on loads, maybe something soon maybe 🙂 I guarantee the songs will be big vibes and stuff to dance to.
