Streaming Services with a Ton of Hispanic Content

Streaming Services

As a Latino, I love how America is slowly moving towards diversity, inclusion, and equal representation for our people across major media platforms, with the most major example being streaming services.

Streaming services are a perfect way to bring the entire familia together, with a range of shows and movies that accurately represent our culture, people, traditions, and more.

In this article, I’ll share some of the streaming services that have the largest range of Spanish shows, movies, and that touch of home we all need.

Dedicated Spanish-Language Streaming Services

To make it easier for you to decide whether you want a dedicated Spanish service or a bilingual global streaming service, I’ve categorized the top choices in each category. Let’s start with dedicated Spanish-language platforms.

Vix

Vix is the largest dedicated Spanish language streaming service out there. The platform, owned by TelevisaUnivision, combines content from Televisa, Univision, and most recently, Pantaya to deliver over 80,000 hours of Spanish content. Their extensive library includes it all, from some of the most entertaining telenovelas, movies, original series, to live news, and action-filled sports.

With Vix, you have three options: one free and two paid. The free plan, Gratis, allows access to over 80 channels and on-demand content, the only catch: ads. The paid plans, Premium and Premium with ads (only in America), allow access to 17,000 hours of original premium shows, movies, and live sports, along with everything in the free plan. Premium with ads costs slightly less than Premium, so I’d recommend it, because a few ads won’t hurt, and you’ll save a bit, God knows we all need to.

Canela.TV

Canela.TV is an entirely free Spanish-language streaming service that features over 30,000 hours of entertainment. What I love most about this platform is that, beyond the engaging and heartfelt telenovelas, insightful documentaries, and multi-genre movies, it has a dedicated section for my niños, called Canela Kids, which really helps me keep them busy when I need to. We’ve all been there.

While you may see ads popping up, the wide variety of entertaining content does a good job making up for them. I mean, that may be why the service has grown by 88% between 2024 and 2025, reaching up to 6.6 million viewing hours in 2025, compared to 3.2 million in 2024.

Bilingual & Multilingual Streaming Services

Let’s take a look at some of the bilingual and multilingual global streaming services out there.

Netflix

The king of streaming platforms for a reason. The platform has over 600 Spanish movies and shows, many of which have won hearts all around the world–talk about a moment of pride for our people. In fact, Spanish content accounted for more than 6.6 billion viewing hours in just the first half of 2024.

Shows that you might have heard of, such as Elite, Money Heist, and its spin-off Berlin, to name a few, are all original productions from their respective countries that the platform invests in producing and marketing. Many more great productions are on the way, since the platform has announced that it’ll be investing €1 billion towards Spanish productions from 2025 to 2028. The only catch with Netflix is that there is no free plan, and the most budget-friendly tier features ads and a smaller content library.

Amazon Prime Video

Jeff Bezos knocked it out of the park with this one. The streaming service is a solid competitor to Netflix when it comes to delivering a quality library of Spanish content, also originally produced. Some popular titles include Culpa Tuya (Your Fault), Apocalipsis Z: El Principio Del Fin (Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End), and Reina Roja (Red Queen), all of which were critically acclaimed and also helped the service break viewership records in between 2024 and 2025.

The platform is continually investing in creating more and more titles, so while it may take them some time to reach Netflix level, it’s not out of the question. Amazon Prime, like Netflix, is also not free. If you’re already an Amazon Prime member (membership costs $14.99 a month), you’ll get the service as part of the benefits. For a standalone subscription, plans start from $8.99 a month and include ads. However, for an extra fee, you can enjoy the streaming service free of ads.

Peacock

Like the number of colors on the bird’s feathers, streaming service Peacock serves up a wide variety of Spanish content, mainly sourced from Telemundo. Their content library includes mostly soap operas and dramas, with a few major titles including El Señor de los Cielos (The Lord of the Skies) and Yo Soy Betty, La Fea (I am Betty, Ugly One), also the inspiration behind the superhit American series, Ugly Betty.

Peacock is also a paid service, with three paid plans, Select, Premium, and Premium Plus, costing $7.99, $10.99, and $16.99 per month, respectively. But if you’re an Xfinity internet user, there’s a bit of good news for you since Xfinity internet users can get Peacock Premium included in select plans. If interested, you can reach out to the Xfinity Servicio al Cliente for Spanish-language support.

Spanish Content – Great Entertainment, Great Profits

The great storytelling, creativity, and execution that Spanish content packs have helped propel it to global popularity, leading to a win-win situation for viewers and streaming services.

As our amazing creators and the streaming industry leaders continue to push the barriers of all that is deemed possible in cinema, we can expect to see even more global Hispanic hits up ahead.
