You do not need previous publication experience, but clear writing and a strong point of view are essential.

Submission Guidelines

Before sending your pitch, please follow these guidelines:

  • Send a brief pitch or article idea (2–4 paragraphs)

  • Include a proposed headline

  • Attach links to previous work or portfolio if available

  • Mention whether your idea is exclusive to EQUATE

  • Include your full name and social handles

We prefer original content that has not been published elsewhere.

Article Length

Typical article lengths:

  • Opinion / Commentary: 800 – 1,200 words

  • Features: 1,200 – 2,000 words

  • Interviews: 1,000 – 1,800 words

Quality and originality matter more than strict word counts.
