EQ: Hi Sabrina, can you tell us a little about yourself and how you first got into music?
SC.: I grew up in Pennsylvania in a really creative household, so music was always around. I started posting videos of myself singing online when I was younger, and that kind of opened the first door for me. Acting came along pretty quickly after that, but music was always the thing that felt the most personal.

EQ: You’ve balanced acting and music for years—who or what has influenced your sound the most?
SC.: I think it’s a mix of the artists I grew up listening to and my own life experiences. I’ve always loved strong female pop voices, and I’m inspired by people who aren’t afraid to be honest in their music. Artists like Taylor Swift definitely showed me how powerful storytelling can be.

“…I’ve learned that the more honest you are in your music, the more people actually connect with it.”
– Sabrina Carpenter

EQ: Your recent music feels more confident and bold—what inspired that shift?
SC.: I think it just comes with growing up and becoming more comfortable with who you are. I’ve learned not to overthink everything and to trust my instincts more. It’s been really freeing to lean into both the fun and the vulnerable sides of my personality.

EQ: Out of all the projects you’ve worked on, is there a moment that really stands out to you?
SC.: There are so many moments, but performing live is always the most special to me. Hearing people sing back lyrics that came from such a personal place is something I’ll never get used to. It reminds me why I started doing this in the first place.

EQ: What have you been working on recently, and what can fans expect from you moving forward?
SC.: I’ve been writing a lot and experimenting with different sounds. I want to keep surprising people while still staying true to who I am. There’s definitely more music coming that feels really honest, but also a little playful.
